The Last Apprentice: The witches Revenge
This is the first book in the wardstone chronicles by Joseph Delaney. This series is centered around Thomas Ward, A seventh son of a seventh son or a 7x7 as commonly refered to in the books. Being a 7x7 Tom has special abilitys like being able to see the unquiet dead, and other denizens of the dark he also can resist dark magic used by witches this almost destins him to be a spook. Tom is 13 when the book begins and is being interviewed in a way by the current spook, John Gregory, the spook is getting old to a point where Tom is going to be his last apprentice he will train. During the past years the spook has trained many apprentices, some have grown to be succesful spooks others dropped out and some even died. Tom becomes the apprentice of John and begins his training in Chipenden, the location of the spooks summer home and his precious library full of books about his battles against the dark and accounts from many spooks from the past. One day as Tom is going into town to get the months provisions he runs into a group of young men who want his bag of food and are willing to fight, but then he meets a young girl about his age named Alice she runs the boys off and asks Tom for a favor for helping him Tom accepts and the book continues as Tom continues the task Alice asked of him and meets problems as consequence. This book Is Excellent with tons of action, mystery, excellent character development, and a hint of romance. 9/10.
